The Ethereum merge has happened and is no longer possible to mine it using GPUs or Asics. Many people are jumping from one coin to another and others are looking at ETHW as the next Ethereum coin to mine.

We recommend that you read our article What coins to mine after Ethereum 2.0 Merge.

How to start mining ETHW in just a few single steps.

Get a ETHW wallet

For that today we are going to use metamask as it already supports this new coin however we will have to manually import it like in the image down below.

Click save and you have your wallet created in Metamask.

Select a pool that supports ETHW

There are many pools already that support this new coin and you can find most of them on the mining pool stats website. As an example for this article, we will use 2miners pools. More pools will be created in the next days.

Start mining in Simple Mining

Create a new group config with your prefered ethash miner such as Teamredminer, Lolminer or T-Rex, Gminer and many others.

The group configuration is the same as any other ethash configuration like down below for Teamredminer:

-a ethash -o stratum+tcp://ethw.2miners.com:2020 -u
WALLET_ETHW.$rigName -p x --api_listen --watchdog_script

For Nvidia you can use lolminer like in the example down below:

-a ETHASH -p ethw.2miners.com:2020 -u WALLET_ETHW.$rigName --apiport 4444 --tls 0

Be sure to replace WALLET_ETHW with the ETHW wallet you got from metamask.

Assign the new group you created to your rigs and they will reload and start mining this new coins in just a few seconds.

Where to exchange ETHW?

The coin is very new and there are not many places you can exchange it yet however you can check the coinmarketcap website to see where you can buy and sell this Ethereum Fork coin.

Happy mining!
