Less can be more.

More for the sake of more, leads to clutter.

Leave space for the reader. Space to breathe. Let them ruminate.

Remove the excess. Refine.

Positive constraints lead to creativity. Haiku is constrained but also beautiful, in the right hands.

Simplify your message. Less ambiguity.

Direct and concise can also be pleasing to the reader.

Embrace white space. Make the words that stay, count.

Paint pictures with your words.

Remove distractions.

Let the words resonate.

Try writing minimalism, your way. There is beauty waiting to be uncovered.

Note: My book for writers, about the writing process, is out now.

Carl writes short books full of big ideas. He is also the proud owner of Frictionless Living.
