Apple M1 Macbook Air review.

Apple ended the year 2020 with a bang from launching its new iPhone 12 series to making a new M1 chipset for its own Apple MacBooks. It has been a great year for Apple regarding the innovations that they made to its technology and disregarding the fact that the world might be coming to an end and everybody freaking out about what’s it gonna be like in 2021, but as a tech guy, I am not here to talk about that so let’s just focus on the world of tech which makes our life a little bit better and helps us to take our mind off of the reality that we live in.

Apple took a bold step by swapping its MacBooks chipset from Intel to not AMD but to its very own new M1 chipset with 8‑core CPU, 7‑core GPU, and 16‑core Neural Engine, yes you heard it right the GPU is also built into the chipsets.

So what about its performance, well so far everybody seems to be impressed by what Apple has achieved here with their new chipset. The Intel based one released earlier this year ran fine it was a good daily driver but it was noisy, thermals were out of control because Intel chipsets tend to get hot and apple cooling systems just couldn’t cope with it which just made multi-tasking a bit of a hassle and decreased its performance.

Now with this release, Apple has solved almost everything from overheating to its smooth performance, and when I say smooth believe me it’s fast and capable of doing anything you would want from a daily driver with an additional benefit of extra-long battery life.

Apple has drastically improved its MacBooks Air’s battery life with this new M1 chipset which makes it perfect for daily use. The base version comes with 8 gigs of ram and 256 gigs of SSD storage and guys don’t worry about its GPU its capable of playing some good games pretty smoothly but gaming is not its targeted market so we can let it slide. Intel based apps work fine, it still has the touch id login and a pair of reasonable speakers also the true tone display is still there.

Overall it’s a nice well-rounded machine but it still has some flaws like apple doesn’t care about its webcams on these things and it’s gonna be 2021 soon and still, no touch screens and IOS based apps are still a mess. But it’s nothing new. It’s the same as its older versions, Those machines came with the same issues and we have to adjust with them for now.

So in conclusion to what we discussed here, it’s a highly recommended buy if you are in the market looking for a new daily driver or just want to upgrade your workstation. It’s almost perfect if you are not a big fan of charging your laptops twice a day because Apple just got you covered in every way from performance to battery life, you won’t regret buying this piece of tech.
