Simply VC is now officially contributing to Chainlink’s network of decentralised oracles on the Ethereum network, acting as a node operator allowing for off-chain data to be used within on-chain smart contracts.

Chainlink’s network of data providers is deemed to be one of the major developments to solve one of smart contracts’ biggest problems, i.e. that smart contracts live within the confines of the blockchain they’re operating in, and use the blockchain as their only source of truth for evaluating decisions. This stops smart-contracts from being able to be deployed to dynamically respond to real-world events.

The Chainlink node architecture being operated at the Simply VC datacentre comprises of redundant off-chain Chainlink nodes that monitor and fulfill on-chain requests for off-chain data sent to our Ethereum oracle smart contract.

Simply VC’s mission

Simply VC runs highly reliable and secure infrastructure in our datacentre in Malta, built with the aim of supporting the growth of the blockchain ecosystem and the heralding of a decentralised future. Apart from infrastructure provision in a jurisdiction that embraces blockchain technology, Simply VC also supports various blockchain projects through partnerships, infrastructure provisioning, and consultancy.

Chainlink’s mission

Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that enables smart contracts to securely access off-chain data feeds, web APIs, and traditional bank payments. Chainlink is consistently selected as one of the top blockchain technologies by leading independent research firms such as Gartner. It is well known for providing highly secure and reliable oracles to large enterprises (Google, Oracle and SWIFT) and leading smart contract development teams.

Stay tuned for more information regarding additional valuable data feeds and APIs Simply VC will be adding to its Chainlink oracle as we research the current off-chain data needs of Ethereum smart contract creators.
