Penance

Monstrous and ugly
All black and dirty
That’s who I am
That’s who I was
Delusion and fantasy
Paradise, all but a fallacy
Love, what does that even mean
I know what, as I never knew
A common man with uncommon deeds
Who forgives and who forlives
I am a mother, I gave a birth
To my destiny and my dirt
You kissed the sand, and you licked the sweat
You thought I was more but I was always less
