Intelligent assistant Xperia Ear

Xperia Ear is a smart product from Sony Mobile — an in-ear personal assistant to help you communicate and get things done via conversational voice interaction and simple head gestures.

It’s designed to bring a new way of communicating, without compromising on enjoying the world around you. It provides you with useful information such as your schedule, weather and the latest news to keep you up-to-date on the go. Powered by Sony Agent Technology; an adaptive platform, Xperia Ear responds to verbal commands, so you can ask it to make a call, perform an internet search, dictate a message or navigate to a certain location.

It will read out incoming texts, WhatsApp or Facebook messages and allow you to initiate a response with a simple nod and then reply instantly with your voice.

To illustrate the benefits of smart and personal technology, premiering today Sony Mobile has launched a mini-documentary series, partnering with creative personalities from the world of photography and blogging, across three European cities — Berlin, London and Paris.

Sony Mobile tasked fashion photographer, Dan Zoubek (Berlin), beauty and lifestyle blogger, Mademoiselle Stef (Paris) and portrait photographer, Tom Oxley (London) to integrate Xperia Ear into their lives, to show how smart technology can help facilitate modern, busy lifestyles.

Tom Oxley, portrait photographer, based in London, said: “As a photographer, I like to be aware of the world around me and I found it a liberating feeling not being tied to a smartphone. I was able to travel and work around the city, knowing Xperia Ear would remind me of my schedule and messages.”

The videos document each contributor as they travel around their city, inviting the viewer on their individual journey, as they shoot up-and-coming artists, attend fashion briefings or catch up with friends and collaborators. With the ability to schedule and manage appointments, provide navigation to reach meetings and the power to search for information, Xperia Ear enabled each creative to be fully immersed in the world around them, giving them the freedom to look up from their smartphone.
