All of us, Facebook users, must have thought at least once while scrolling through the News Feed that if we could identify the false news. Even though we like to share only the precise news, sometimes we are not able to find the source to check its accuracy and end up spreading fake news.

Fake stories and news are spread faster than wildfire through social media. They come as memes, trolls, links, etc., and are presented in a way that it looks factual. Headings for such links seem genuine but are misleading and totally different from the content inside. Such stories are really annoying and create trust issues for the factual ones.

Facebook announced two changes yesterday(20 Dec,2017), which will help you to fight against false news. There will no longer be disputed flags displayed in your News Feed to identify the fake story. Instead, they will use related articles, links etc. from reputed publishers to specify you the background of the story. Next, they are starting a new initiative to get a better understanding of how people judge the accuracy of a story, based on the sources they use. This won’t affect your News Feed at any recent time.
