The hassle is not the cooking, but cooking small portions, storing leftovers and eating that the next day; whereas you want to at something new. It’s boring, monotonous and not even healthy.

There is one simple rule to economize the time and avoid wastage in your kitchen: Always Boil Extra Rice and/or Pasta.

You’ll have to do some portioning and storing, but you get variety in your food everyday. When you store boiled rice and pasta in your refrigerator, its shelf-life is longer than a pasta in a sauce or a fried rice with eggs or chicken in it.

It also protects the textural integrity of the pasta or rice grains for future use. If you refrigerate it in a clean, air-tight container, boiled rice and pasta can be stored for three to five days.
