Check out major updates, announcements, and roadmaps from SingularDTV’s development of a decentralized entertainment economy.

At Ethereal NY at the Knockdown Center in Brooklyn last weekend, SingularDTV’s CEO Zach LeBeau and Director of Business Development G. Thomas Esmay hosted a panel brimming with major updates, partnerships, and a roadmap towards the launch of Ethervision, the distribution portal of SingularDTV’s decentralized entertainment economy.

The duo began the discussion by noting the remarkable growth of the SingularDTV organization, expanding from its Zurich base to include 70 team members in New York, Los Angeles, Romania, Japan, and New Zealand, all with a diverse team of equal representation. “If we want to see change in the world and in the entertainment industry, we need to embody that,” said LeBeau.

Before launching into the announcements and updates, Esmay offered a succinct explanation of the SingularDTV mission and model: “How you can think of a blockchain entertainment studio is two distinct, but interrelated workstreams,” he explained. “We’re building the technology so that anyone in the world can distribute their films, music, podcasts, video games, and get paid fairly. And we’re also producing our own original content to test this out, prove that our method is viable, and in fact preferable to the legacy system.”

SingularDTV’s current suite of creator dapps can be broken down into the following functions: Development (Tokit), production (Rentalist), distribution (Ethervision), and support applications. Here’s a further breakdown as explained by LeBeau and Esmay…

Tokit

“Tokit is our version 1.0 of our rights management gateway, where artists, producers, filmmakers create and onboard their projects onto the blockchain by utilizing our rights management system. What we’ve developed is the ability for intellectual property to be programmed into data vessels — that we’re calling tokens, of course — and providing an interface for artists to administer and manage the rights, the revenue flow, the residuals, the royalties of that intellectual property.”

Rentalist

“Rentalist is in private beta in New York. It’s a peer-to-peer, Airbnb-style equipment rental platform. Not only entertainment production equipment, but also crew hiring and location services, the three things you really need for actual, physical production of a movie. It’s an excellent solution for independent filmmakers working in the New York area that we hope to roll out nationwide in the not-so-distant future.”

Ethervision

“Ethervision or eV, the working title, for the digital, peer-to-peer content distribution portal of the SingularDTV ecosystem. Private Alpha version will be ready within the next three months, and a public facing Beta version at the turn of the year. Version 1.0 will incorporate mobile and streaming in addition to downloads. Ethervision is the most important piece. Once we get Ethervision live, that’s what will allow us to create the simplest, closed loop of our decentralized entertainment industry. It’s sort of the rug that ties the room together.”

Throughout the presentation, SingularDTV officially announced and released trailers and sizzles for a truly impressive array of exclusive launch film and content partnerships secured in the run up to Ethervision. The projects include a Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven, Traffic, Solaris) produced film that’s directed by Eddie Alcazar and featuring the music of Flying Lotus.

The Happy Worker, a dystopian live action film produced by cult icon David Lynch is also in the works, and nearing completion is Trust Machine, the globe-spanning documentary on the blockchain evolution by Alex Winter. The presentation also included the debut of Tokit star Gramatik’s video for “Future Crypto,” and the gripping sizzle reel for New Frontiers, the immersive sci-fi universe created by a collaboration of rising directors including Ruairi Robinson. It was a head-spinning array of work, and in addition the Ethervision roadmap and platform explainers, offers a look into the vibrancy of the SingularDTV operation.

‘It’s been extremely gratifying, and very validating, to get a response from filmmakers of this level and caliber,” explained LeBeau. “Hosting Eddie and Steven and their production team at our offices, sitting down with them, talking about the state of the entertainment industry and the tools we’re developing, we realized that we have built a solution that they’re interested in. Now we get to roll this film and a number of others out into the world to test our technology, test the blockchain, and to show artists, producers, entertainment investors around the world what the next level of entertainment looks like.”

With development at SingularDTV operating on all cylinders — tech, content acquisition, and business — a SNGX AirDrop date forthcoming, and the launch of the SingularDTV Discord Channel, it’s an exciting time for SingularDTV and the growing, global team working towards a decentralized entertainment economy.
