South Korea SK Telecom Launch Digital 5G Hospital, Smart-tech crossover collaboration with Medical

South Korea’s largest wireless carrier, SK Telecom, has launched 5G high speed wireless system service in April, 2019, which highly increases the data communication speed, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Yonsei University Health System to build innovative 5G-powered digital hospital, which is scheduled to open in February 2020.

The 5G-powered digital hospital will be equipped with SK Telecom’s AI speaker NUGU to enable patients with physical difficulties, or even use NUGU Call service to get medical assistance in case of emergencies; AR-based indoor navigation and facial recognition access control system in which allows contact-free entry to help reduce the risk of infection. However, to prevent hacking of sensitive medical information, the company will apply quantum cryptography solutions.

南韓SK電信開創數位醫院5G時代，未來感智慧科技進軍醫學界

韓國最大的移動通訊運營商SK電信今年4月推出商用5G高速行動網路服務，大幅提升資料傳輸速率。4月底，SK與延世大學醫學中心簽署合作備忘錄(MOU)，協同打造數位醫院，可為2020年2月預計開幕的龍仁市Severance醫院提供5G醫療布署。

SK電信提供AI音響「Nugu」協助行動不便的病患以語音操作病房內的設備，更可直接呼叫撥打電話至護理站；擴增實境(AR)的室內導航服務；人員臉部辨識功能，可避免不必要的接觸傳染等其他服務。但為避免駭客入侵，SK電信將採用量子密碼學的加密功能防止資烙外洩。
