Femtech Kindbody Raised $4.5M USD Investment from GV
A female-led startup, Kindbody, announced a $4.5 million investment from GV. Series A+ funding comes half a year after the announcement of its $15 million Series A round let by RRE Ventures and Perceptive Advisors.
Kindbody utilizes a hybrid approach to female care, it combines face-to-face visits with a virtual care. The provided service includes fertility testing, egg freezing, IVF and wellness care. Moreover, Currently, it has brick-and-mortar location running open in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Meanwhile, Kindbody has established a “mobile medical service” for AMH Blood Test, which is an important fertility test to determine the size of the remaining egg supply. For those women who has confirmed with the low number of AMH may go to the brick-and-mortar for a complete infertility test. Customer can also apply for the egg freezing directly in the store.
Aside from the infertility test, Kindbody also provides an online lecture for helping out the stress from the process of getting pregnant, managing couple relationship and changing the career path. Moreover, the company also offer the coaching service, including return-to-work coaching, nutrition coaching and personalized care plans for a better solid femtech solution.
According to a Rock Health report funding for Femtech companies has increased by 812% from 2014 to 2018. The report also found that these companies were starting to raise money in latter stage rounds. In 2018, 30% of the funding deals for women’s health companies were Series B or later. From the phenomenon, there is no denying that femtech companies has comes as part of the mainstream of digital health.

專注於女性健康的新創公司Kindbody獲得A+輪融資450萬美元，本輪融資由Google Ventures（GV）領投，資金將用於拓展據點與服務解決方案。Kindbody今年四月才剛拿到RRE Ventures以及Perceptive Advisors共同領投的1,500萬美元A輪融資，累計至目前為止該公司已經募集了3,200萬美元的資金。
Kindbody採用面訪搭配虛擬照護的方式進行治療，主要服務據點位在紐約、洛杉磯與舊金山，項目包含不孕測試、凍卵、體外人工受孕等。Kindbody利用廂型車進行「移動醫療」，女性可以直接在車上進行免費的血檢、以AMH的含量評估卵子的庫存量，作為受孕能力的初步指標。有了這個初步結果，消費者可以直接到Kindbody的實體店進行完整的不孕測試，最後再決定是否進行凍卵─這也是Kindbody最主要的核心業務。
除了不孕測試之外，Kindbody還提供線上療程幫助病患面對壓力，從懷孕、婚姻關係到職涯等各方面的壓力諮詢，都可以在Kindbody的課程中進行，此外他們還安排了「幸福教練」，協助消費者選擇他們想要的生活方式，建構出完整的女性健康解決方案。
根據Rock Health統計，專注於女性科技的公司拿到融資的比率從2014年到2018年間成長了8.12倍，而這些公司已經有部分開始進入後期如B、C輪融資階段，顯示出女性的照護數位健康領域日益受到重視。
