Cognitive Health Startup Neurotrack Raised Series C US $21M Funding, Aims Japan Alzheimer Market
Based in Redwood City, United States, Neurotrack develops its online browser and app platform for early detection of Alzheimer. It has announced series C funding is closed with US $21 million led by Khosla Ventures, with the participation from strategic investor Sozo Ventures, Japan insurance provider Dai-ichi Life, Sompo Holdings Ventures, Rethink Impact, AME Cloud Partners. The fresh investment will be used to accelerate it memory health program and expand business territory globally. Meanwhile, Neurotrack has identified Japan as a major potential growth market for the company in light of the country’s rapidly aging population and the global rise of Alzheimer’s disease.
Impairments in the hippocampus of brain is the major factor leading to Alzheimer. Neurotrack uses cognitive assessments that follow eye movements using the camera on a computer or mobile phone to create a baseline for cognitive functions. The company then uses a combination of brain training and diet, exercise and sleep adjustments to try to improve cognitive function and health.
