Greetings Singularitarians! The Cardano community recently voted to set aside $500,000 USD worth of ADA tokens in funding for AI projects that deepen the partnership between SingularityNET and Cardano. This is an incredible opportunity to bring our communities together in service to our shared vision.

Catalyst is Cardano’s project funding platform; more details about Catalyst can be found here. Catalyst Fund7 Facts:

  • Fund7 is the biggest fund yet at $8M
  • A whopping 24 challenge themes have been selected to manage $50,000 to $600,000 USD to fund projects
  • SingularityNET/Cardano and AI collaboration is one of just 6 projects receiving $500,000 or more during this funding round

The spirit of this $500,000 USD collaboration challenge is stated best by its sponsor Greg Bell:

The SingularityNET/Cardano partnership can make a beneficial powerhouse that drives this century’s innovations in Artificial Intelligence!

We couldn’t agree more!

What are the Catalyst funding goals

The goal is to build a deeper partnership between SingularityNET and Cardano. This funding is targeting AI and AI enabling technologies as the vehicles that drive this initiative.

This Catalyst challenge is centered around SingularityNET’s unique relationship with Cardano. The challenge has four goals that are intended to build synergy between our communities and tap into the huge potential that this partnership creates. These goals are only hinting at what we can do together:

  • SingularityNET teams and individuals arrive on Catalyst enthused by the possibilities for proposals and funding.
  • Catalyst users get exposed to SingularityNET’s technologies and get excited by the ways they could be used.
  • Great collaborations happen before, during and after the challenge.
  • The challenge is looked back on as part of the beginning of a great partnership between two crypto communities.

Exciting, right?

At this point we hope you are wondering if you can get involved because that’s a big YES!

Everyone is encouraged to participate in this challenge

Everyone can participate and truly has something valuable to offer. Your unique perspective brings fresh eyes to the challenge. The bottom line is that discussions and proposals flourish as engagement scales up.

  • There are no restrictions for contenders, including people from SNET.
  • Usually the community votes on a larger number of smaller projects rather than a few big ones.
  • You will have to set aside some time to work with the community to refine your proposal. This is fundamental to the whole process, and it can give you also valuable feedback.
  • If you want to participate there will be a button on the Catalyst Ideascale page linked above. You will need to enter a summary of max. 140 characters and there will be an opportunity to link to Github, white/litepaper, video, etc. But you don’t need a fleshed out proposal at this stage just yet.

Hopefully we’ve made it clear that you don’t need to be a programmer or have any technical skills to get involved.

The two guiding questions for this challenge keep the focus on the biggest areas of impact. These questions are broad in scope and profound in implications:

  • What do SingularityNET’s technologies make possible?
  • How and where can AI + Cardano benefit society?

If those questions are inspiring to you… Get involved — that’s SingularityNET’s challenge to you.

How do I get involved in the challenge

If you would like to get involved, create an account at IdeaScale (participation is open to everyone). After you create an account or login, go to the SingularityNET challenge: https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/campaign-home/26247. You will be able to hand in a draft project proposal then.

From Nov 18–25, draft project proposals will be accepted, which will then be refined through various phases of community engagement through Jan 6. Funding voting will begin Jan 13, and is open to ADA holders who hold at least 500 ADA that are delegated. You must register to vote before Jan 6. If you have an idea for a proposal and would like a deeper dive into how the platform works, check out this documentation (it also includes a proposal writing guide).

What is exciting about this challenge…

There is no doubt about it, bringing our two communities together and inventing the world we want to live in is exciting. What this challenge brings to the forefront is that the only limitation in front of us is the amount of energy we can contribute as individuals.

That is the beauty of decentralization, how we are distributed around the globe. Collectively, we are working non stop…every minute of every day. It’s exciting to know all that collective energy is about to unfold in this funding challenge as well.

This funding challenge is highlighting our collective creative capacity. The following bulleted list from the challenge page points at a few of the exciting directions to explore:

  • AI improvements to help project Catalyst scale to many times its current size
  • AI projects that fire the community’s imagination and enthusiasm
  • Knowledge base & Documentation
  • Samples, recipes and templates
  • Hackathons

This challenge also highlights something else that can be hard to see on a personal level. One person can make a difference. One idea can change the world in unforeseen ways that have cascading beneficial effects.

  • One person created this Catalyst funding challenge.
  • One person put their vision into action.
  • One person is able to affect change in countless lives and ways.

Your ideas can transform this challenge into something bigger than anyone has imagined. Be the next person to contribute to a future of benevolent decentralized AGI, join the challenge here: https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/campaign-home/26247.

The power of our community

Many thanks to Greg Bell and all of the community members who took the time and the initiative to bring this incredible opportunity about. Community member initiative is the key to our ecosystem flourishing.

On behalf of the SingularityNET ecosystem, we collectively give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who answers this call and gets involved!
