SingularityNET will sponsor and host the free live stream, a setting for rich discussions on the latest theory and developments in artificial general intelligence (AGI).

Greetings Singularitarians,

Ready to learn about the latest advances in the field of AGI from the innovators who are building the future of machine intelligence?

SingularityNET is excited to host once again the free live stream of the AGI Society Annual Conference, AGI-23. The AGI Conference Series is the longest-running conference dedicated to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) research and will take place from June 16 to 19, 2023, in Stockholm, Sweden.

When — June 16 to 19, 2023
Where — Live (Stockholm, Sweden) & Virtual (SingularityNET YouTube Channel)
To Participate: Register for the free Livestream

The conference will present progressive innovations in the rapidly accelerating field of AGI. Top international researchers and practitioners will come together at AGI-23 to collaborate and share advances toward a future of general machine intelligence — at the human level and beyond.

AGI is poised to radically alter people’s lives, change businesses, and reshape industries globally…and that shift is coming ever closer. As AI’s promises and limitations become apparent, researchers are increasingly focused on generality as the next step for AI to meet its potential.

We are thrilled to welcome participants from around the globe to AGI-23. The research community that has grown around the AGI Conference Series since we founded it in 2006 has an unparalleled understanding of Artificial General Intelligence in all its aspects and implications. The depth and variety of different approaches to AGI that one finds at the AGI conferences are unparalleled and quite different from the mainstream of the AI field, which often seems to be obsessing with a small number of algorithms and methods. This year’s conference is dedicated to the late AGI pioneer Stan Franklin, whose cognitive architecture-oriented approach to AGI has powerful lessons to hold as we work together to figure out the next steps toward building real thinking machines.

— Dr. Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET & Chairman of AGI Society.

Join AGI-23 and Become a Part of the future of AI

AGI-23 offers everyone, from AI researchers to newcomers in the space, a place for communication, learning, and networking. The conference offers a 4-day program over the breadth of the field, from machine vision to cognition to AGI architectures and hardware:

  • June 16th and 19th (Conference Days 1 and 4) will be dedicated to 7 full- and half-day workshops and tutorials on participant-proposed topics, providing a rich space for cross-pollination of ideas and advances.
  • June 17th and 18th (Conference Days 2 and 3) will feature Keynotes Talks from global AI thought leaders and over 36 Technical Presentations highlighting the most advanced AGI research and developments in the world right now.

See the full schedule here.

The foundations of AGI, AGI approaches, AGI ethics, and the roles of various disciplines like systems biology, goal generation, learning systems, and more are just a few topics covered in the Keynotes and technical paper presentations.

Highlights of AGI-23:

The program for AGI-23 is extensive and covers a variety of subjects and viewpoints, featuring many of SingularityNET’s own research team, as well as ecosystem and partner presentations. Some of the notable presentations by SingularityNET researchers and partners include:

  • Workshop: OpenCog Hyperon Session, led by Ben Goertzel and the SingularityNET OpenCog Hyperon team, covering the latest developments and following milestones (June 16, 09:00 CEST, full-day session)
  • Workshop: Accelerating AGI Development with Hardware, led by TrueAGI partner Rachel St. Clair of Simuli (June 19, 09:00 CEST, full-day session)
  • Workshop: Interpretable Natural Language Processing (INLP), led by Anton Kolonin, with papers by the OpenCog team and other researchers (June 19, 09:00 CEST, full-day session)
  • Technical Presentation: Ben Goertzel, Bridging AGI Theory and Practice with Galois Connections
  • Technical Presentations: Nil Geisweiler, Probabilistic Logic Networks for Temporal and Procedural Reasoning and Rational OpenCog Controlled Agent

Beyond SingularityNET researchers, the conference will feature a multitude of fascinating presentations and talks from AGI-Society members, independent developers, and teams from around the world:

  • Irina Rish Keynote Talk “On Scaling Laws, Emergent Behaviors, And AI Democratization Efforts.
  • Martin Ingvar Keynote Talk “The Relevance Of The Turing Test? Ascribing Intention Into Any Experience.
  • Elements of Cognition for General Intelligence: Christian Balkenius, Birger Johansson, and Trond A. Tjstheim; exploring the fundamental facets of cognition in the context of general intelligence.
  • Alien versus Natural-like Artificial General Intelligences: Howard Schneider and Piotr Bołtuć; exploring the distinction between AGI that includes mammalian-like mechanisms and AGI that does not include the core mechanisms which allow full causal and analogical processing — “Alien” AI, such as represented by ChatGPT.

We invite you to join us in building the future of AGI at AGI-23!

AGI-23 is advancing the field of artificial general intelligence research and serves as a dive into the deep questions of defining intelligence, learning, generality, and safety — and translating these ideas into machine processes.

AGI-23 offers a platform for researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts to explore the frontiers of AGI, foster collaboration, and shape the future of machine intelligence as it advances the field of artificial general intelligence research and sparks debate about its potential applications. The conference will have a significant impact on the next evolution of AI⏤an era where general machine intelligence will augment human capabilities and revolutionize our homes, families, environments, and beyond. It is critical that everyone is involved in understanding and building this future we will all share — which is why SingularityNET is committed to live streaming the entire event free to the world.

To learn more about the technical papers, see the full schedule, and register to attend the free live stream, please visit the AGI-23 Conference website and follow the AGI-Society on Twitter.
