Greetings Singularitarians,

As the SingularityNET organization continues to make strides toward progressive decentralization, one of our key commitments to the community for 2022 is greater transparency and sharing with the community. This has taken many forms -

  • Monthly — Ecosystem Round-Up — sharing project and event updates from around the ecosystem and around the globe every month
  • Monthly — “Inside SingularityNET” Recorded Pod Leader Meetings — a recorded meeting of the ecosystem project leads (e.g., Rejuve, Mindplex, etc.) and organizational team leaders (e.g., Platform, Blockchain, and Operations)
  • Quarterly — Operations Update — this document you are reading right now! A roundup of the operations metrics — progress on milestones and project roadmaps, hiring and open positions, partnerships, and decentralization initiatives. The first “Quarterly update” was in April, so this update covers May and June — in the future, we will cover actual calendar quarters!
  • Mid- and End of Year Project Updates — Review each project's progress towards long-term goals and milestones…so the community knows what is coming down the pipeline.

We look forward to receiving community feedback on which information channels are the most valuable and how we can make them even better.

Let’s dive into this month’s quarterly update to look at the operational fundamentals of the SingularityNET Ecosystem. We will cover:

· SingularityNET Ecosystem 2022 Roadmap
· HR & Hiring Report
· Partnerships Status Dashboard
· Progressive Decentralization Initiatives

The launch of the AGIX-ADA Staking Portal and the initiation of the Loyalty Airdrop for SingularityNET community holders is of particular priority for the organization, and we will shortly be providing a special update covering the progress of these two initiatives so that the community can understand where they stand and what to look forward to.

The roadmap and project milestones for the 2nd half of 2022 are as follows:

SingularityNET HR — Quarterly Hiring Report

Organizational Headcount has remained relatively steady from the end of the previous update through the end of Q2:

The HR Team has been focused on several key areas:

  • Operational costs classification — support to the SingularityNET CFO on the classification of 2021 and 2022 costs for financial reporting
  • Support and Engagement — helping our brilliant team leaders manage, engage and motivate their teams; support and answer questions/ concerns throughout the organization.
  • Training and Resource Allocations — we constantly strive to ensure our people are allocated to suitable projects and have the training and opportunities to extend their full talents.
  • Recruitment — We have been building a 360-degree recruitment process to bring the best professionals to work with us, selecting people and appointing those who can make a difference in the various areas of the Foundation and its Ecosystem, creating products that will make a difference in people’s lives.

We strive to ensure SingularityNET is recognized for being a fantastic place to work so that we can recruit the highest qualified job applicants available.

We are working continuously on engagement and outreach events to build a diverse and inclusive global organization that can represent the needs of all communities.

SingularityNET Partnerships Dashboard

Several exciting partnerships were announced last quarter, including LDA Capital, SWAE, MinSwap, and MOZN. SingularityNET offers world-class AI and blockchain systems critical across many industries — financial services, creative industries, infrastructure, and biomedical research and development. These partnerships accelerate the growth and expertise of the organization and the SingularityNET community.

The partnership focus for 2022 is on driving new solid partnerships, collaborating on powerful projects, and getting these new partnerships signed and activated within SingularityNET. The disruptions of COVID in the past couple of years have been a turbulent event throughout business and industry. Some of SingularityNET’s previous partners shifted focus as businesses worldwide adjusted strategy. Some project initiatives were delayed, deprioritized, or redirected due to new and pressing challenges and are no longer under active development. Many previous partners remain close connections to the ecosystem, and these partnerships may be renewed or reinitiated when the time and conditions are correct for collaboration. The above-listed partners should be considered the active project partners of SingularityNET. The community will be provided full details if older partnerships and projects are renewed.

Starting in Q3 updates, we will be providing deep dives into the individual partnership projects, as requested by community members, to provide the details of the range of ways SingularityNET is collaborating with this great list of partners.

SingularityNET Progressive Decentralization Initiatives

As SingularityNET moves down the path of decentralization, an essential component of the process's success is providing opportunities for community involvement and contribution. In addition to bringing information and transparency to the community, a primary focus of 2022 is creating opportunities for more direct participation and increased collaboration between the community and the organization. Three initiatives spearhead this collaboration — the Ambassador Program, the Supervisory Council, and Deep Funding.

Here is an update on the progress of each of these initiatives for Q2, as well as details on how you can get involved.

Ambassador Program

The ambassador program has been going strong for two months, with a weekly town hall meeting, regular work sessions, and two established work groups. One workgroup is building out the foundations of the ambassador program itself, and the other is creating a community-led podcast. All meetings are public, and everyone is encouraged to attend or watch the recordings. All the Town Hall sessions are available on the Youtube playlist, and many workgroup meetings can be found on the playlist.

The most up-to-date information on open and completed tasks is available via the Dework page, which is open to all and provides transparency and decentralization for the program. Several volunteers from Catalyst Swarm have been collaborating with the Ambassador program, aiming to cross-pollinate and collaborate between our two volunteer communities. In fact, a Catalyst fund 9 proposal has been proposed, which would provide funding for the collaboration and growth of both communities — make sure you check it out!

For context, some numbers on what has been achieved so far:

  • Twelve individual ambassadors have successfully completed 21 requested tasks.
  • The available monthly budget is 62,500 AGIX.
  • The program has spent 28,526 AGIX. The unspent budget will remain available for future tasks and initiatives.
  • 9 Town Hall meetings have been held — live attendance averages around 15 members, and Youtube views average 150 views each — great participation, thank you all!

For an overview of the program and some background information, you can check the Gitbook page. This page covers how to get started if you want to join in on the fun, links to all relevant documents like meeting schedule, slides, and notes, and an overview of the tasks and distributed rewards.

Supervisory Council

The Supervisory Council is working on creating a progressive decentralization report, which will be published during Q3. This report will dive into all parts of the ecosystem where decentralization can be applied, based on research of successful decentralized organizations, with recommendations on what to focus on. It will be used by the SingularityNET Foundation to further decentralize the organization with the participation of the community.

Deep Funding Q2 Overview

After a long preparation phase in which the Deep Funding process was defined and created, the Deep Funding website was launched, and the proposal portal opened to all innovative and groundbreaking AI proposals. The first full funding round is now complete and was a great success!

A total of 47 proposals were submitted for the $1 million worth of AGIX tokens offered during the first round of funding. After reviewing the proposals for formal compliance to the Deep Funding rules, 28 made it to the voting round. All 28 received more than the required 1% of cast votes (the first criteria for acceptance), but only 12 proposals received an average grade of 6.5 or higher (the second acceptance criteria). You can see an overview of the 12 winning projects on the results announcement blog post — a truly impressive set of projects ready to grow our ecosystem and build AI on the SingularityNET platform.

This result was achieved by a total number of 186,264,155 votes, cast from 158 individual wallets. Interestingly, the total allocation of round one funds was not depleted by the fund requests of these 12 projects, leaving an excess that can be allocated in future rounds. All in all, this was an exciting level of participation from high-quality proposers and from community voters, resulting in an overall smooth process of this first round. For an in-depth analysis of the voting process, possible improvement options, and next steps, see the 3-part blog series on this topic.

To further introduce the community to the winning projects, we have held and recorded three presentation sessions, where all awarded teams introduced themselves and their projects to the community. All three sessions (“Deep Funding Round 1 Projects Kickoff | Part 1/2/3”) are available on the Deep Funding playlist on Youtube. In addition, if you have questions for the awarded teams, you can submit them here.

Deep Funding has started regular meetings with community members on governance topics. Do you want to be involved and discuss the future of Deep Funding? Meet us on Discord and visit Deepfunding/Community Governance

That wraps up this Operations update for Q2. There will be ongoing updates on all of these initiatives moving forward. We’ll leave you with an anonymous quote from our Customer Support department:

“This is honestly the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life, I am definitely going to double down on AGIX.”

While we hope you won’t need to contact customer service, rest assured you’d be in good hands.
