Dear Singularitarians, are you ready to vote?

With Deep Funding Round 3 voting concluded, the next community vote is already here, the Supervisory Council election!

Aspiring Supervisory Council members have formally declared their candidacy, and now, it’s time for the community to vote and elect the members of this important body.

By being a part of the voting process, you are selecting representatives who will design the Decentralization Blueprint, an important milestone in SingularityNET’s journey towards community-driven governance.

We invite you to join us now on the next phase in our journey to realizing a fully decentralized AGI platform, governed in an effective, stable, fair and transparent manner by the widest group possible. In this way, a beneficial singularity has the best chance to change the world for the better.

Assessing the Candidates

The Supervisory Council plays a pivotal role in representing community interests, as well as guiding the decentralization and governance of SingularityNET. Before casting your vote, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the candidates running for the Supervisory Council.

Carefully review the candidates’ applications, either via the Deep proposal portal or the SingularityNET Decentralization Events website, and consider their vision, expertise, and potential contributions to the decentralized governance of SingularityNET.

Additionally you can watch the Candidate presentation sessions (part 1 and part 2), held last week.

The candidates should embody the values and goals of SingularityNET as a whole and the decentralization process — from technical AI understanding of the Marketplace, to experience in decentralized governance, what is important to you in your future Council members?

  • Experience in the process of self-organizing systems?
  • Diversity of perspectives and representation?
  • Technical understanding of AI and blockchain systems?
  • Demonstrated ability to build communities that collaborate transparently and effectively?

Which of these qualities do you prioritize in community representatives on the Decentralization Blueprint Task Force?

Ben recently shared his own thoughts and perspectives on the process, and why this election is critical to him and for the future of Decentralized AGI.

The Voting Process

The voting portal will open for voting on on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 00:01 UTC, and close on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 23:59 UTC.

Community members will rate all candidates with a grade from 1 to 10 (1 being low, 10 being high). Community members are encouraged to vote only for candidates whom they have researched; if there are candidates you have not had the chance to read or watch, you may simply leave those candidates unrated.

The voting process utilises token balances, but balanced by the method of ‘Quadratic Voting’ meaning that for each wallet, the square root of the token balance multiplied by the user’s reputation rating determines the weight of the vote. The goal of this measure is to reduce the impact of a few very large wallets on the outcomes.

The three candidates with the highest overall scores will be elected to serve on the Second Supervisory Council. These candidates will help to represent all our voices in shaping the Decentralization Blueprint, that will enable SingularityNET to progressively decentralize over time, and so we invite you to be an active part of this process.

Connecting Multiple Wallets

If you are voting using more than one wallet containing AGIX tokens, you can link your Ethereum and/or Cardano wallets together at: mywallets.singularitynet.io.

This tool will enable you to apply your entire AGIX holdings across multiple wallets in a single voting action.

If you previously created a collection of wallets (such as for voting for Deep Funding), then after connecting one of those wallets, the linked ones will be loaded automatically into the portal.

Your participation matters

Your voice and actions will contribute significantly to constructing a platform that holds true to the principles of openness, decentralization, and community governance.

Stay tuned for announcements on the results, an introductory session with the newly elected Supervisory Council, and look forward to taking part in the next steps in the decentralization journey of SingularityNET.
