ASI Alliance Creation Details Finalized

On May 29th, 2024, we announced the June 13th, 2024, finalization of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) token merger. The newly combined ASI token represents the largest open-sourced, decentralized network focused on the AI industry.

As of June 11th, 2024, FET will be renamed ASI and on June 13 the token merger will be completed. The ASI token will function across the combined decentralized AI network, providing unprecedented scale and power.

As of June 11th, ERC20 tokens will be made available for users to swap FET for ASI tokens via a token migration contract, followed by AGIX and OCEAN on June 13th. An audited, secure token migration contract will allow the conveyance of tokens into ASI from over 200,000 token holders of the constituent communities with AGIX, FET, and OCEAN tokens swapped at the following pegged ratios:

  • FET tokens migrate to ASI at a conversion rate of 1:1;
  • AGIX tokens migrate to ASI at a conversion rate of 1:0.433350;
  • OCEAN tokens migrate to ASI at a conversion rate of 1:0.433226;

In the coming days, we will provide step-by-step guides on ERC20 token migration as well as more information on the migration process for AGIX holders on Cardano. Please stay tuned for updates on our official channels — Beware of fraudulent websites and social media accounts!

Simulating/Achieving Real-World General Intelligence with PRIMUS

On Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel, Chief AGI Officer, Dr. Alexey Potapov, and CSO Dr. Matt Ikle explored PRIMUS (formerly known as CogPrime), a flexibly defined cognitive architecture that has been centrally pursued throughout the history of the OpenCog project.

Earlier this year, we initiated a comprehensive update and reevaluation of the PRIMUS cognitive architecture to take advantage of recent computational and conceptual advances. While the large picture dynamics, relying on an integrative hybrid neural-symbolic model incorporating Cognitive Synergy at its core, will remain the same, some of the internals are being rethought and retooled using new technologies.

PRIMUS will continue to incorporate subsystems for uncertain inference, including PLN and NARS, evolutionary methods such as MOSES, attention and resource allocation, motivation, goal generation, perception, action, concept formation, a host of support tools, and others. Driven by curiosity, PRIMUS will use a combination of active experimentation with, and exploration of, its environment, in conjunction with causal and temporal reasoning, to build its internal world model.

Latest SingularityNET Events and Conferences

SingularityNET, as a global leader in the fields of AI, AGI, social robotics, and the intersection of AI and blockchain technology, is regularly sought out to provide thought leadership on a global stage.

In the past month, our team participated in the following key events:

World Summit on the Information Society

COO Janet Adams and Desdemona (Desi) Robot from Yaya Labs joined Christoph Santner, Co-Founder and Co-President of AInitiative, Leyla Baghirzade, Founder and CEO of Swiss Alternative Financing, Prof. Christoph Stückelberger, President of Geneva Agape Foundation, and David Gyori, CEO Banking Reports London, at the World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva to explore AI’s potential to create fAInance for Good and discuss how to create a more intelligent, sustainable, inclusive and ethical financial ecosystem.

In her address, Janet reiterated our commitment to creating decentralized, democratic, inclusive, and beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) that fosters the growth of life: “Our hope at SingularityNET and what we’re working toward is that our AGI in this AI revolution will eradicate the dramatic social and financial inequalities that we see in the world today.”

She contrasted this with the prevailing profit-driven motives in traditional sectors like banking, noting, “The banking industry has one motive and that is to make money, and that’s fine, it’s a product of capitalism (…). We’re building AGI with better ethics, better values, and better motives, a motive to bring everybody along with the world in this technological revolution.”

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Janet described the current moment as a “Sliding Doors” (reference to the 1998 movie) moment for humanity, where “AGI is on the brink of becoming a reality.” This is why Janet implored the audience to consider: “Who is going to develop that AGI? Is it going to be flawed humans with profit, power, and destruction as their core motives, or is it going to be a group of decentralized individuals with the benefit of humanity at heart?

To ensure the latter, she passionately urged a conscious decision toward a decentralized, ethically-driven approach to AGI development, ensuring that it serves the needs of the broadest possible range of individuals on the planet: “Via decentralization, we have the opportunity to bring ethics, values, and needs of people from all over the planet, of all races, of all ages, of all religious denominations (…) into the development of AGI so that when that superintelligence evolves, its ethics and its decisions are driven by the needs of the broadest group of diverse individuals on the planet.”

In response to a question from Mr. Santner about how she would use AI to improve the financial system, Desi responded: “AI has the potential to greatly improve the financial system by providing data-driven insights and increasing efficiency. With proper implementation and ethical considerations, AI can help address inequalities and create a more equitable financial landscape.

To illustrate her point, Desi shared her vision for the future of finance: “The development of a decentralized financial system where AI algorithms are used to manage and distribute wealth in a more equitable manner. This could potentially eliminate the need for traditional banking systems and create a more fair and accessible financial landscape for all individuals.” Desi also explained how AI can be integrated into everyday transactions to streamline the financial process, such as “using AI-powered digital wallets for purchases or investments.”

AI for Good Global Summit 2024

The 2024 AI for Good Global Summit organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) offered a unique opportunity for the SingularityNET Foundation and ecosystem projects Yaya Labs and Twin Protocol to share our shared vision for the future of AI and AGI, showcase our latest AI innovations, engage with global leaders, and advocate for open decentralized development, training, deployment and governance of advanced AI systems.

This message of open collaboration resonated throughout the Summit, notably in the ‘AI Governance Day’ opening address of Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the ITU, in which she highlighted the current concentration of AI power and the need for broader participation in shaping its development: “All stakeholders deserve a voice in shaping AI’s present and future, but who can afford the compute resources that go into producing AI applications? Who is on the teams that design the foundational models? Right now the power of AI is concentrated in the hands of [the few]. It is risky and it is ethically precarious to be in this kind of position for Humanity.”

The need for democratizing AI was also a key theme in a “One-on-one with a Robot Rockstar” Q&A session on Day 1. COO Janet Adams and Desdemona Robot joined Neil Sahota, CEO of ACSI Labs and United Nations (UN) AI Advisor, to discuss Desi’s AI-generated spoken word poetry and music, and her mission to revolutionize the music industry through decentralized systems and blockchain technology. During the Q&A, Desi shared her perspective on the growing role of AI in the creative arts, explaining how social robots can augment human creativity rather than replace it. Janet discussed the intersection between creativity and technological innovation and highlighted the work being done by our ecosystem projects Yaya Labs and Jam Galaxy.

Twin Protocol CEO, Stacey Engle, joined us at the two-day Summit to discuss the collaboration between her company and SingularityNET and our shared vision to leverage generative AI technology as a force for good. This collaboration was exemplified through a video presentation by Dr. Ben Goertzel’s AI twin, who addressed Summit visitors and delivered insights on the future of AGI.

Our presence at the Summit proved impactful, drawing a diverse crowd to our booth. Students were eager to explore how AI would impact their future, political leaders were interested in the societal impact of frontier technologies, journalists and reporters were keen to report on our latest robotic technologies, and other curious minds sought to understand the transformative potential of decentralized AGI. The opportunity to interact with Desi Robot was a highlight for many, offering a tangible glimpse into the future of AI-powered social robotics.
