We’re very proud to announce that SingularityNET has partnered with SGInnovate, the government owned, private company charged with driving technology innovation in Singapore.

In a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), SingularityNET, SGInnovate, and our local representative, Six Kin Development, have agreed to collaborate in a number of areas, including:

  • Early access to SingularityNET for SGInnovate’s portfolio startup companies, plus technical guidance to help them integrate and monetize their AI services.
  • Providing keynote speakers and subject material on deep tech topics in support of SGInnovate’s workshops, panel discussions, and industry-leading tech events.
  • Advisory assistance to SGInnovate supported startups.
  • Recruitment of organizations with AI tech suitable for integration into SingularityNET.
  • Technical training in the areas of blockchain, smart contracts, AI, and robotics.
SzeKi Sim (Head of Brand, SGInnovate), Scott Jones (SingularityNET Partner and MD of Six Kin Development), and Steve Leonard (CEO, SGInnovate)

The partnership was announced during a press event today as part of SGInnovate’s newly unveiled “Deep Tech Nexus” strategy. The Deep Tech Nexus represents SGInnovate’s commitment to add tangible value to the Singapore deep tech startup ecosystem, particularly in AI and blockchain related technologies.

In support of the Singapore AI initiative. SingularityNET joins several industry leading technology companies, including IBM and NVIDIA, in playing an instrumental role in the Deep Tech Nexus.

We saw an amazing response from our participants when Dr. Ben Goertzel presented SingularityNET at one of our deep tech community events. Ben spoke about the power of blockchain and its potential to provide a platform for a variety of AI technologies to be shared.

Bringing SingularityNET into the deep tech ecosystem we are building in Singapore will help advance our goals in both blockchain and artificial intelligence. We share Ben’s vision of artificial intelligence playing a very positive role in the future of societies. — Steve Leonard, Founding CEO of SGInnovate

By the end of 2017, SGInnovate will have completed equity investments in 15 deep tech startups, played a part in generating 400 potential-customer leads for early-stage companies, and built a network of more than 1,000 technical individuals interested in joining early-stage tech companies. In addition, SGInnovate has created and hosted more than 100 events with more than 9,000 participants.

This partnership will create new opportunities for Singapore startups to leverage and cooperate with SingularityNET — and for Singapore to play a leading role in the transition of AI technology to its next stage of development.

In the next few years, we will see a transition from narrow AI to Artificial General Intelligence, and from disparate AI tools to a coordinated network of AI functionality. This partnership will help catalyze the involvement of Singapore researchers, developers, and companies in this critical transition in AI capability and application. — Dr. Ben Goertzel, Co-Founder and CEO of SingularityNET
