Also available in Russian, Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese
Greetings Singularitarians,
Progressive decentralization and fundamental transparency are a focus for SingularityNET in 2022, to create openness and increased participation with the community. This month we are excited to share key operational updates:
- SingularityNET Ecosystem 2022 Roadmap
- HR & Hiring report
- Partnerships Status Dashboard
- Progressive Decentralization Initiatives
SingularityNET Ecosystem 2022 Roadmap — Milestones
The SingularityNET 2022 Roadmap covers initiatives across the ecosystem, including core technologies and spin-off activities. The SingularityNET Platform team will be focused throughout 2022 on the port to Cardano — now that the Converter is launched, and the first round of Deep Funding is active, the next steps are staking, loyalty rewards, and then a full platform port (with upgrades!).
The AI and OpenCog teams are moving forward on a number of AI project and partnership initiatives, and continuing massive progress on OpenCog Hyperon, AI-DSL, and the MeTTa language.
Within the ecosystem, SingularityDAO is making rapid strides in product, DAO, and AI development. NuNet will be launching its public alpha, an exciting milestone, as well as continuing to build out decentralized compute use cases. Many of the incubating projects, which have been building patiently during the focus on the Cardano launch, are getting ready to share their initial products and prepare for the full token launch process. Token launch dates have not been included in the roadmap milestone charts due to the material dependency on market conditions, but we are aiming to conduct a number of token launches in 2022 including Rejuve, Mindplex, SophiaVerse, HyperCycle, and Jam Galaxy.
As with all things tech and crypto, priorities will change where necessary, or as new obstacles and opportunities appear. Therefore this plan like all plans is subject to change. Platform dates for Staking and Cardano port are at the end of the quarter and as such any changes or delays could provoke a move into the following quarter. We are committed and excited to share the ongoing progress and outlook on project development as it unfolds over the coming months, as we share this journey together.
SingularityNET HR — Quarterly Hiring Report
The HR department has been working tremendously hard for the past year to grow the organization to cover all of the many decentralized AI initiatives of SingularityNET and Phase Two, and to grow the foundation.
- In 2021, the SingularityNET Foundation grew by almost 200%, to a year-end headcount of 97
- In the months January to April 2022 the foundation grew by a further 40% to 135
The summary of year-to-date hiring is as follows:
There are plenty of openings to fill as well, and offer exciting opportunities to get involved in these projects and be at the forefront of creating the future:
For more details on these positions, and to see the current listing which is constantly updating, please see the SingularityNET jobs page. To apply, or for more details, please contact recruitment@singularitynet.io. We love to hire from the SingularityNET community, who already understand the critical importance of the ecosystem mission.
In addition to recruitment and hiring for SingularityNET, the HR team is helping NuNet to build their team, which has been expanding rapidly since launch.
We want to give a warm welcome to all of the new contractors, volunteers, and NuNet contractors — welcome to the team!
Beyond recruitment and hiring, HR has achieved many important milestones during Q1, to build stronger and more supportive teams organization-wide:
- Supporting all teams to establish strong internal procedures and decentralised culture across the foundation and its ecosystem.
- Working continuously on engagement and diversity promotions, to build a diverse and inclusive organization that can represent the needs of global human communities.
- Supporting spin-offs to scale up and implement their HR procedures and policies, and advising on all HR matters.
- Ensuring that team leaders across SingularityNET understand their team allocations across projects and how to report them.
We look forward to continuing to grow and build all of these initiatives across the ecosystem, to build strength, creativity, diversity, and resilience throughout all of our projects and teams.
SingularityNET Partnerships Dashboard
The Strategic Partnership Manager has been active in conversation with a number of partnership opportunities at all stages. Partnership opportunities span from ecosystem partners, crypto and technical support partners, and AI collaboration projects; along with project and proposal recruitment for Deep Funding.
A number of new partners were signed during the year to date, and are awaiting formal PR coordination and announcements. Formal announcements will be released soon! There are many partners in various states of dialogue and contract negotiations, as well, as outlined in the Partnerships Dashboard below:
We are excited about the growth and possibilities that open up for the ecosystem in collaboration with these partners.
SingularityNET Progressive Decentralization Initiatives
There are three major initiatives within SingularityNET driving the move to progressive decentralization. First, the Deep Funding initiative opened to community proposals for AI development projects on March 28th. On May 1st, the proposal period will end, and the community will have an opportunity to investigate and discuss the proposals, culminating in voting beginning on May 9th.
Deep Funding is an opportunity for the entire community to create the future of the platform together — through discussion, through volunteering as an expert, and of course through voting. The success of this initiative will depend on massive involvement from the community; this is the opportunity for everyone to shape the emergence of beneficial decentralized AI. There are already quite a number of wonderful proposals that will grow the ecosystem in this direction.
Second, SingularityNET is forming a community ambassador program, providing opportunities for community contribution to building and growing SingularityNET, while raising awareness and understanding of its mission and goals globally. Initial plans include rewarding ambassadors for educational and promotional content, translation, project representation, and many others. The program will be designed directly with the community and focuses on compensating community members who are creating extraordinary value for the project and community. If you want to join, be notified of developments, and help create this new initiative, you can register your interest.
Finally, our fantastic Supervisory Council is leading the charge in progressively decentralizing SingularityNET and has hired a skilled researcher to conduct an initial review of other decentralized organisations that we can learn from, and make recommendations.
There will be ongoing updates on all of these initiatives moving forward.
