The Problem With The Permaculture Cult In Xalapa
The problem with the cult in Xalapa (from which I made the most harrowing of escapes, detailed here)is the same problem that all of Mexican society has. It’s the same problem that American society has, too.
Nobody is allowed to be honest. Nobody is allowed to say “I want to live with other polyamorous people in the jungle where we can grow amazing fruits and veggies and swim naked in the beautiful river and have earth-shattering orgies and enjoy our lives. I wanna invite gringos to come and participate for a week or so. That’s what would make me happy.”
Nobody is allowed to say that, because the moment they do people say WTF OMG THAT’S SO GROSS YOU’RE CRAZY STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU PSYCHO!!!!
But our society reacts like that because we’re all hiding something just as trangressive. I’ve already pointed out too many times that I have no shame. If the cult people in Xalapa had introduced themselves with the thing I said above, I wouldn’t have reacted like most people. I wish the creepy cult people had just said “Hey, we’re a poly family. Wanna join us?”
I could have responded, “No thanks. Not into men. Can I just have the girls?”
Then they would have said, “We don’t do drugs here.”
I would have replied, “What the fuck is wrong with you? Why do you wanna be so disconnected from the reality of consciousness?”
They wouldn’t have understood, because apparently “singing is the best way to reach altered states.”
A temazcal is basically a shitty version of a sauna. It’s a good experience, but not the way the cult does it. Too many rules. Actually, that’s not accurate. Not all temazcales have the same rules as the cult one does: Gotta be naked, gotta sing, gotta let me blow incense on your naked body, and on and on.
Humans already have too many rules. Why would anybody invent MORE of them? That’s another problem that we’ve created for ourselves. There are too many rules. Everybody wants to be dominated by rules.
So here’s an action item for the rest of your life: Don’t judge people’s sex lives. In fact, you shouldn’t really judge anything they do, at least not to their face. Why? They’re never going to change.
So rather than worrying about how to change them, accept it and learn how to move within the new philosophy of intense realism that you’ve adopted.
