Summer Lovin’, Had Me a Glass.
Allegedly it’s the first week of summer but we’re skeptical. There are heat waves across Europe and the US, but we’re still cold and grumpy. Don’t fear, we’re ready to roll when the weather gets with the program. Don’t fear, our drinks are still on ice and our legs are bare, white, and ultra reflective just waiting for some rays. We’re also buying stock in aloe vera. Canadians get crispy real quick. So does Caty who is American, but that’s another thing.
What to pair with the best of summer!☀️
We love poolside snacks as much as the next guy. Our faves are seven layer dip, Italian pasta salad, and Greek-style watermelon salad. Just made this recipe and *chef’s kiss* couldn’t get enough. Thank you, Mark Bittman. Make sure to have a bottle or more of Provencal-style rosé on hand to roleplay riviera chic, or a chilled Beaujolais if you want a perfect pairing but to feel special. Because you are.
Beach parties! If you have kids around, that doesn’t mean you can’t drink. In fact, the opposite. Cast aside those glass bottles and bring on the cans. Indestructible, toddler-proof, and saves washing glasses at the end of the night. Stick with us for more genius tips. We are loving Olé tequila cocktails these days, especially their tangy Chili Mango flavor which is perfect on its own, or with a beach taco!
And the worst.😬
Your sunburn. Time for what pairs with bacon (Caty’s fav, Verity’s worst nightmare)! Salty and crispy foods are enhanced by sparkling wines including Lambrusco or a rounder Pinot Noir. Pairings for bacon really depend on how you serve it, but if it’s just a plate of bacon here’s a high five from Caty.
What’s Up with Sipply🍷
Well, the gram (we’re not old, you are) hasn’t kicked us off for cringe content. Yet. Ever wonder what would give a sommelier a heart attack? Let us tell you.
Thanks for participating in our recent survey, we were stoked to hear from so many of you! Most of our respondents drink 2–3x per week and try new things because they are ‘feeling adventurous’. We see you! And relate.
Cheers,
The Sipply Team
