Don’t you judge us.

While we know not everyone has entered the world of complete domination by a toddler, you know someone who has. And you’ve been invited to that thing’s birthday party. And you’re gonna need a drink.

What to Drink or Serve for a Toddler’s Birthday

House Party! When your house is already a complete disaster and can’t get any worse, why not hang some Paw Patrol decor, pour yourself a stiff one and brace for impact! It’s party time! Nothing tempers sugar highs and meltdowns like OJ and bubbles, enter: The Modern Mimosa. Made with sustainably produced Italian wine and organic Californian orange juice, this drink is a lifesaver… whenever you’re in trouble. No job’s too big, no drink’s too small, Modern Mimosa’s on the roll… oh, and if you’re wondering what else to pair with your kids’ hella annoying TV shows, look no further.

Bowling Party! If you want to outsource party cleanup, hit up your local bowling alley! With already questionable cleanliness standards, there’s nothing gross it hasn’t seen before. Although vodka is tempting for disinfectant purposes, we think that beer, balls, and balloons have an irresistible ring together. As a nod to The Dude (or His Dudeness, or Duder, or El Duderino), we recommend a West Coast style lager like Jack’s Abby Hoponius Union to wash down those stale nachos and neon icing.

Pony Party! Whatever you do, never buy your kid a horse. Ask our Fractional CTO Simon… We see renting a pony for your toddler’s birthday party as basically a one way ticket to future horse-town (population: you), but if you’re willing to risk it, you should probably cut your costs elsewhere. How about cheap, but still tasty, wine? One of the best value bottles we’ve found lately is Chateau Barbebelle which is a quintessential Provence rosé and pairs with just about anything except clowns. Never do that to your kid.

Oh, and if you’re feeling confident that a horse isn’t in your future, splurge on any sparking from Iron Horse in Russian River Valley — one of our personal favorites.

What’s Up with Sipply

We’re back from SXSW and looking forward to sharing our progress at AngelForum today. Next up is INNOVATEwest in our backyard here in Vancouver where we’re giving the Sipply down-low to The Firehood and LaunchBuilders! Y’all know we love talking to people. If you’re local, come say hi. Next up is planning our calendars to roadshow in SF, LA, and NY.

ALSO! Our lead eng, Mark, had the most amazing experience in the path of totality in Montreal. In his words, “It was an electric and emotional moment as 10s or 100s of thousands of people cheered at once, every business shut down for at least 10 minutes around totality.”

Other things he did that we love:

Check out his dope photos!

Cheers!
