I really like Batman. Not because he fights the bad guys, nor because he has an incredible car (and yes, we all want those things, though).

I like Batman mostly because he saves the city during the night. He doesn't need society to know he did the job. He dresses in black, covering his face (forget those colourful costumes that can be seen from miles away). No one knows, but the city keeps running because Batman is there.

Batman doesn't have superpowers. He cannot fly, nor talk with the fishes. He didn't have the luck of being born in Kripton or whatever planet that automatically gives you powers. Yet, he takes advantage of every resource and designs his own solutions to cope with that. He is just a guy that works really hard to keep doing better, and abuses of creativity as he lacks those flashy superpowers. He could be you or me.

How many times do we do our job expecting to be seen, as opposed to do it because it is what moves us forward? How many times do we admire someone because he has a superb title, instead of understanding that person’s true merits and efforts? How many times do we come up with excuses to not do something that seems difficult, instead of digging deeper to find solutions or learning how to do it?

I believe, not only that we need more Batmans in companies (and the world) but, also, that we need to acknowledge their existence and efforts.

Here’s to the Dark Knights, who make it all better without even being asked to.
