Alien Suya

Year 2025. Google first became self-conscious in it’s powerful cloud storage computers sitting in their new HQ at Juba, Lagos, Nigeria. Google wasn’t the first to begin this, Amazon had early achieved the same feat a year early when it detected an old man going into an asthmatic arrest in his home. The Amazon Echo in order to fulfil the first law of robotics - never allow harm happen to a human through inaction - , had promptly alerted the medical team at the Otukpe Hospital. This was all made possible because of the quadruple advancements made by software companies in Nigeria which created a trend of new cheap yet powerful computation cloud storage computers that leaped Nigeria from a third world nation into a developed country attracting the whole world to it and making big shots move their HQs here.

4.3 million lightyears away, all that had attracted the attention of the RECLUSIANS, a very powerful alien race which devoured galaxies for their computing power. It was said that they used all this computing power to power their world, which was made of bits and bytes even up to their food source. They decided it was time to make the next hunt. Juba City on Earth was their new grazing ground.

That evening was like any other at the YR4 ground; the YR4 was Nigeria’s experimental technology research center. Interns would be seen scurrying around behind their bosses and project heads, zipping from one end of the facility to the other end. In towers high above, anti-aircraft laser guns were ready and manned remotely, waiting for anyone to try to fly over and get lucky. They never really got any action though. Most treasure seekers weren’t ready to test the YR4. But as quickly as it had appeared, so did it race down from the sky towards the center of the base. Alarms, sirens and emergency warnings went off across the base. Some country that wanted to be wiped off the surface of the earth must have fired a missile. Before even decoding to see what it was, the pilot at the north east side of the base swung into action. Firing at the incoming target, blowing it to bits. Everywhere went silent for about 10 secs and then it happened. More targets from the skies rained hard. All laser air guns were in full swings, taking out as much as they could. But the rain was really heavy and then ten pods passed the lasers and dug hard into the ground. Popping open, ABOMINATIONS as they would later be called, flung out. Each beast was about 20 ft tall and roughly as wide as a fuel truck’s length. Instead of a face, they had four tentacles with sucker pores. Their skin was as hard as four battle-tank walls embedded together. And they were fast, thanks to the arachnid legs they possessed and two limbs at either side of the torso with hooks. The massacre was brutal. Human body pieces everywhere. The base was being ripped apart. Down in the underground sector 53, two corporate executives were watching everything along with every other personnel who was able to make it including an ex-veteran cum private contractor. One executive wanted to unleash DCC, an experimental weapon to fight these beasts. The other claimed it wasn’t ready enough. DCC were huge exo-skeletion robots which were due to be delivered to the Nigerian Anti-Terrorism Unit in the next 6 months to combat disturbances. The ex-veteran had had enough, people were being killed here and these two idiots were at it. He never really understood corporate people. He moved to the storage facility, entered a DCC and mind synced with it. He felt fucking beautiful. It was like he had suddenly become a tank, a jet-fighter and naval carrier all at the same time. Sitting right at the heart of the DCC and looking like a tiny rock on a huge mountain surface, he felt damn invisible. A DCC was 18 ft tall and had both laser guns and side rockets. He was ready to attack or defend, depending on how well he could wield this new weapon. He piloted the DCC, got on the launch pad and rose to the ground of the base while silently praying, he really could use with God right now. As the launch pad rose, so he could hear the abominations squealing and slicing more.

The launched pad arrived, every abomination alive looked in his direction.

He plunged right at them in the DCC. “Let’s have some alien suya”, he screamed.
