Woo boy. It’s a tough time to be a lady.

If you’re like the sisters here in the DMV, you might be cycling through anger, grief, despair, exhaustion, or numbness in light of the most recent current events. Wherever you’re at in your journey, know that we love you and support you — and that we have many cathartic pieces for you to read.

Survivors,
We believe you.
You are beloved.
We are here.

Note: We like many of the points in this piece — mainly the reminder of Jesus’

history with women and the callout of sexism — but we’re getting a little stuck on the idea of women having to “apply the salve.” We feel like she’s suggesting women have to come in and be fixers, when really what we need is to have equal access and opportunity across all levels of church leadership so we can lend our unique perspectives and abilities to guiding the church in a new direction.

We’re curious, what was your thoughts after reading this article?

“The voices of those white male older evangelicals from the Religious Right and Trump’s supporters DO NOT speak for all evangelicals.”

“I’m the kind of Christian that recognizes who Jesus was — and Jesus was the first activist that I knew, and the first organizer that I knew, and the first example of how to be in service to people.”

“This political moment has provoked a period in which more and more women have been in no mood to dress their fury up as anything other than raw and burning rage. Many women are yelling, shouting, using Sharpies to etch sharply worded slogans onto protest signs, making furious phone calls to representatives.”
