Sisterly HQ is a digital female-focused and female-led publication that tells the stories of Nigerian women. Sisterly is telling the stories of Nigerian women, increasing the representation of Nigerian women, and equipping Nigerian women with resources for their personal, professional, socio-political, and financial growth. Social Media Lead

We’re growing quickly and are looking for our first Social Media Lead to help us create quality female-focused content for our online community. You will work with the founder, editors and the content team to create content for our social media pages on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. You will be joining a small team, as an important early-stage member, and would be expected to bring attention to detail, creativity, leadership, and drive.

Please note that this is a voluntary (unpaid) and remote position, with a commitment of 4–8 hours per week.

You will:

  • Create monthly content calendars.
  • Supervise content creation processes, from conceptualization to execution.
  • Co-manage Sisterly HQ’s social media pages.
  • Create female-focused content for Sisterly HQ’s social media pages, and manage analytics.

You are:

  • Extremely detailed. You notice the smallest things and you love doing things right.
  • Creative. You are bustling with ideas and you love executing them.
  • Comfortable with Canva. You know your way with Canva, and you put the D in design!
  • Great with research. You want to know things. And you know just where to find them.
  • Comfortable with using Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. You know social media like the back of your hand. You know your stuff!
  • Collaborative. You love working with people. You can manage conversations, tasks and resolve differences to achieve your goals.
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace. You know your way around Google Docs and Sheets. Or you can figure it out.
  • Great at taking initiative. You know when and how to rise to the task.
  • Always learning. A new creative app? No problem! A new trend? No problem. Even if you don’t know it, you can Google it.
  • Driven. You don’t stop until you’ve got it done!

Operations Lead

We’re growing quickly and are looking for our first Operations Lead to lead our team of contributors in telling the stories of Nigerian women, and connecting them to resources and opportunities. You will work with the Founder, Editors, Writers and Content Team to ensure that Sisterly HQ runs smoothly. You will be joining a small team, as an important early-stage member, and would be expected to bring organisational skills, attention to detail, leadership, and drive.

Please note that this is a voluntary (unpaid)and remote position, with a commitment of 3–5 hours per week.

You will:

  • Supervise the creation of monthly publishing and content calendars.
  • Manage the content and publishing schedules of Sisterly HQ’s contributors.
  • Maintain communication with contributors, answer questions, and resolve issues.

You are:

  • Extremely detailed. You notice the smallest things and you love things being done right.
  • Organized. You love structure and making systems work.
  • Comfortable with leadership. You can manage a team effectively.
  • Great at communication. You are a good listener and can manage conversations effectively.
  • Collaborative. You love working with people. You can manage conversations, tasks and resolve differences to achieve your goals.
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace. You know your way around Google Docs and Sheets. Or you can figure it out.
  • Great at taking initiative. You know when and how to rise to the task.

Lead Editor

We’re growing quickly and are looking for our first Lead Editor to lead our team of writers and editors in telling the stories of Nigerian women, and connecting them to resources and opportunities. You will work with the writers and editors to publish pieces and articles on Sisterly HQ’s website. You will be joining a small team, as an important early-stage member, and would be expected to bring editing skills, research skills, attention to detail, organization skills, leadership, and drive.

Please note that this is a voluntary (unpaid) and remote position, with a commitment of 4–8 hours per week.

You will:

  • Create the publishing calendar every month. You will also manage the weekly publishing schedule.
  • Manage the team of editors.
  • Review and edit articles and pieces before publishing.
  • Publish the articles and pieces on Sisterly HQ’s website.

You are:

  • Extremely detailed. You notice the smallest things and you love things being done right.
  • Great at writing, and editing.
  • Organized. You love putting things together and making things work.
  • Comfortable with leadership. You can manage a team effectively.
  • Great at communication. You are a good listener and can manage conversations effectively.
  • Collaborative. You love working with people. You can manage conversations, tasks and resolve differences to achieve your goals.
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace. You know your way around Google Docs and Sheets. Or you can figure it out.
  • Comfortable with Medium. You can manage publications, create posts, and everything in between.
  • Take initiative. You know when and how to rise to the task.
  • Always learning. A better way to do things? No problem! A new publishing structure? No problem. Even if you don’t know it, you can Google it.
  • Driven. You don’t stop until you’ve got it done!

Opportunities and Resources (OR) Writer

We’re growing quickly and are looking for Opportunities and Resources Writers to curate opportunities and resources for Nigerian women to achieve their greatest potential. You will work with other OR writers and the OR editor to publish resources and opportunities on Sisterly HQ’s website. You will be joining a small team, as an important early-stage member, and would be expected to bring research skills, writing skills, attention to detail, and drive.

Please note that this is a voluntary (unpaid) and remote position, with a commitment of 1— 3 hours per week.

You will:

  • Curate lists of opportunities and resources every week.

You are:

  • Great with research. You want to know new and old things. And you know just where to find them.
  • Extremely detailed. You notice the smallest things and you love doing things right.
  • Organized. You love putting things together and making things work.
  • Collaborative. You love working with people. You can manage conversations, tasks and resolve differences to achieve your goals.
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace. You know your way around Google Docs and Sheets. Or you can figure it out.
  • Great at taking initiative. You know when and how to rise to the task.
  • Always learning. Even if you don’t know it, you can Google it.

You will work with the writers and Lead Editor to review and publish articles on Sisterly HQ’s website. You will be joining a small team, as an important early-stage member, and would be expected to bring editing skills, research skills, writing skills, attention to detail, and drive.

Please note that this is a voluntary (unpaid) and remote position, with a commitment of 2–4 hours per week.

You will:

  • Review articles and pieces.

You are:

  • Extremely detailed. You notice the smallest things and you love things being done right.
  • Comfortable with leadership. You can manage a team effectively.
  • Great at communication. You are a good listener and can manage conversations effectively.
  • Collaborative. You love working with people. You can manage conversations, tasks and resolve differences to achieve your goals.
