The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides scholarships to academically talented young Africans to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Students enrolled in the programme receive support and developmental opportunities including mentoring, leadership development, academic, and life skills support, career development, and entrepreneurship training. They are expected to engage in community upliftment projects and get involved in all that UCT has to offer.
African Guest Researchers’ Scholarship Programme 2022/2023

The purpose of the African Guest Researchers’ Scholarship Programme is to provide opportunities for early-career researchers based in Africa to work and develop their ongoing research at the Nordic Africa Institute. The scholarship offers access to the Institute’s library and other resources that provide a stimulating research environment.

Goethe University Master’s Scholarships in Germany

Goethe University’s Master’s scholarship program is a groundbreaking project, and unique in the academic landscape of Germany. They are seeking outstanding candidates who are interested in joining one of our MA or MSc programs, which are deeply embedded in our strongest research units (Centers of Excellence, collaborative research centers, and LOEWE CENTERS). A monthly stipend of 1,000 € for the standard period of study in a Master’s program at Goethe-University (generally 2 years) would be awarded.

University of Sydney International Scholarships (USydIS) in Australia

The University of Sydney invites candidates who are eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Research Degree or Master’s by Research program at this University to apply for the University of Sydney International Research Scholarship (USydIS). The objective of the USydIS is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to undertake research projects which will enhance the University’s research activities. The USydIS will cover tuition fees and living allowance for up to three years with a possibility of one semester’s extension for Ph.D. students.
Note: No separate application for a USydIS Scholarship is necessary. Students must indicate that they would like to be considered for the USydIS by completing the relevant section of the Postgraduate Research Application form.

The Bartlett Promise Sub-saharan Africa Master’s Scholarship
This scholarship is open to applicants who are nationals of a Bartlett-approved list of Sub-Saharan African countries pursuing a Bartlett master’s program. Full overseas tuition fees, an allowance to cover living and study expenses (£15,364) for the normal duration of the program at UCL, a flight to/from the UK, UK Study Visa costs, English language assessment costs, health test costs, master’s program application fee costs and the NHS health supplement charge in the UK. All Promise scholars will also receive ongoing academic and career support during their studies.

Interfolio Post Doc Fellowship 2021 at Tulane University

The Interfolio postdoctoral fellowship at Tulane University will conduct independent research on molecular and cellular factors contributing to the development of osteoarthritis with a special emphasis on exosomes (extracellular vesicles). The postdoctoral fellow would get to analyze and summarize collected data in written form and, together with the principal investigator, write manuscripts and publish the results of research in scientific journals.

Win Win Gothenburg Sustainability Youth Award 2022

The WIN WIN Youth Award is an international award that aims to empower and reward young people who play an active role in the creation of a more sustainable future. The WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Youth Award wants to acknowledge youth aged 13–29, either a person or an organization, whose aquaculture initiative could contribute to increased efficiency and sustainability, and thereby also toward one or more of the UN:s global goals. The winner will be invited to receive the award at the WIN WIN Award ceremony on October 21 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

WARA/Mastercard Foundation Doctoral Fellowship

The West African Research Association (WARA), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, is pleased to announce support for young West African scholars through its Ideas Matter Doctoral Fellowship program. This program reflects our joint commitment to increasing opportunities for emerging West African scholars, people who are transforming ideas into active solutions to the challenges facing not only the region but also throughout the globe.
The Ideas Matter Doctoral Fellowship-US program will award one pre-doctoral grant of $4,000 for travel to West Africa to conduct research.

Thiel Fellowship

Founded by technology entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel in 2011, the Thiel Fellowship is a two-year program for young people who want to build new things.
