SIU Alumni Association 2019 Textbook Award Recipient Essay
I am an international student who majored in accounting at Southern Illinois University. I came here to study because my university — Northeast Normal University has the collaborate relationship with SIU Carbondale that made the transition easy.
After the one year of study, I believe this university has impacted my whole life. This is my first time studying in an unfamiliar country for a long period.
The people at SIU are warm and helpful. The professors in the College of Business and Center for International Education have assisted me greatly. I’ve also made so many friends who make me happy and relieve my homesickness.
The natural forest environment and fresh air make me happy every day, and I enjoy the rigorous and stimulating academic environment. My two years of study at SIU is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.
