Southern rock usually gets lumped into a Venn diagram with country music on it. And given Susan tedeschi’s former life as a country singer, you would totally expect that from them as well. But the Venn diagram for TTB needs a significant overlap with soul music as well. The groove that they bring to so many of their tunes would be perfectly at home in a 60s soul concert just as much as a ’70s southern rock one
