~ Unfairly stereotyped as LA “cheese” ~

I could, and probably will, write at length about how much better the Electric Angels were than damn near any other late ’80s LA rock group. Unfairly tarnished with a glam rock label and unfortunately lumped in with so many other ’80s hair bands, in large part because of their own self-cultivated image, these guys were masters of songwriting who had actually been at work for several years before this album came out.

Follow the lyrical lines in this track and listen to the love you / hate you dichotomy that the singer is expressing while using car crashes as a metaphor for romance. And once you’re done marveling at the fantastic lyrical expressions, go back and give a listen just to the guitar work underneath, where the riffs come and go underneath the vocals, almost as a second melody line, with Ryan Roxie offering offering a counterpoint to Shane’s delivery

Thanks for checking out Six Degrees of Radio, and grooving along. If you don’t give this article the finger, or, y’know… a thumb, then I don’t know if you’re digging it or not.
