Honestly, the hate for Nickelback really really came about in 2005 when the entire world played “Photograph” every 45 minutes on every radio station on the planet. Up until that point, they were just another rock band that was probably a little over-produced but could definitely rip up a stage live. Songs like this were never getting released to the radio station because your local DJs aren’t risking their jobs or FCC fines for a 4-minute ode to oral sex, no matter how killer or crunchy the riff is.

I can already feel the hate mail coming in just writing this entry before it’s ever gotten close to being published. That’s fine. These guys were good enough for Dimebag Darrell to jam with them and that’s enough for me. They wrote some great heavy tunes to go along with some of their sappier chart topping crap.

This wasn’t part of that crap.
