A Dancing Fish Dish
Summer Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Shine!”
A delicious, nutritious dancing fish dish.
We are visiting relatives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Today they took us to an Indonesian/Malay restaurant called the Dancing Fish. We got to the restaurant just a few minutes after it opened at 11:00 AM to find that all but 2 tables were reserved for lunch. This was on a Tuesday, not a weekend day and not a holiday. Luckily, we got one of the remaining tables, but within 20 minutes, every table in the place was full. Obviously, the place has a reputation for good food.
We ordered the set menu for 4 people. This included chicken satay (marinated chicken grilled), Australian oxtail (marinated, braised and barbequed), a tower of tofu, cassava leaves cooked in coconut milk, and a dancing fish dish.
It was all delicious but the dancing fish was fantastic. It was a deep-fried breaded tilapia, fried to a golden crispy perfection. Everything was savory down to the crunchy bones.
The delicious food, especially the dancing fish dish, was scrumptious and added a shine to our day.
