Without Ben, this is my family
My beloved Ben passed in May 2024, leaving me with no human family in my state of Florida. My closest relatives are more than 1,000 miles away.
But I have a dog, Syau, and two cats, Tango and Sébastien, and they are my loving family. They’ve been by my side through all my crying and grieving.
Because of them, I get up every morning. Because of Syau, I walk multiple times a day. They gave me purpose when all I wanted to do was burrow into my bed and hide. They gave me a reason to keep going, and I love them dearly.
