A Lifelong Affair
January Six Word Photo Photo Story Challenge: “Self”
Bliss is…. traveling through bookish worlds.
I’ve been a life-long reader. Starting when I was five and used to curl up in a large brown chair in the living room of my childhood home. That love continued on through college, where I studied literature. I still enjoy reading a wide variety of books, with favorites being fantasy and horror. Fun fact, I sometimes let my dog Maxwell pick my next read! Usually by choosing 3–5 books and placing a treat on the top of each book. The one he eats first indicates my next read.
The tattoo in the photo is from one of my all-time favorite reads Women Who Run with the Wolves. It was a college text for women’s psychology. I was intrigued and wanted to identify with the wolf as described in the text: passionate, inventive, loyal, strong-life-force. It was the first of 10 tattoos.
I want to thank Mary Chang Story Writer for the idea to share this story in her publication Six-Word Story Challenge’s prompt for January, “self”.
