Piggly Wiggly keys to the kingdom.

Several years back, an acquaintance gifted us a key holder for our new home.

“We finally have a home for our keys,” I said.

R (hubby), an ex-engineer, turned the key holder around in his hands and tugged gently at one of the hooks. It slid out effortlessly into his palm.

“Bad design!” He looked pleased. “Don’t worry, I’ll get you something sturdier.”

“You bet,” I said.

R jumped onto his laptop and began typing diligently to make Jeff Bezos richer.

Hubby and I have our favorite things to shop for. My realm (la-di-da) is books, bird feed, and all things gardening. R is nuts about electronics and quirky knick-knacks.

Our new key holder arrived two days later.

The brass panel bore five pigtails that served as hooks to hang our keys. Four of the pigs kept their heads down. But the pig at the extreme left lifted and turned his head to send a smile out into the world.

I couldn’t help grinning back.

On a nerdy note 🐖

A curly tail is associated with a resilient and happy pig. It can also signify arousal. A hanging or tucked tail is usually observed when an animal is injured, in poor health, bored, or depressed. Farmers use tail postures to discern a pig’s mental and physiological health.

In short, a curly tail speaks volumes.
