An Aquamarine Meditation

Serenity floats upon an infinite sea
9,800 miles from the constraints of my nursing job
Oceans away from my normal daily routine
flows a limitless expanse of a cyan sea
As far as my eyes can reach
stretched out before me on every side
an eternity of unfathomable aqueous beauty
a sanctuary of quietude and peace
the crest of a wave is rarely seen
not a mountain nor a hill on the horizon
a palette of stillness painted soft turquoise
settled beneath a tender azure sky
an ocean too pristine to know its depths
a cerulean pool shimmers and surrounds
an island too serene to share its secrets
a surreal seascape stretches eons beyond
the realm of whimsical fantasy and finite dreams
a pure weightless gateway slowly streams
towards the innocent sands where time began
Herein is the peak of the hourglass, full of hope
before the fall of the first grain of sand
the untouched newness of all of life’s existence
a time before time, the ethereal essence of life
adorned with the sparkle of a billion larimars
an aquamarine mingling of heaven and earth
where time floats eternal and meditates
in the stillness of the slumbering shallows
