Glorious sight over this ancient site.
Bamburgh Castle has over 3,000 years of history ingrained in every stone. Legends abound from invasions of the Vikings, through the Knights of the Middle Ages, to battles for the throne.
More recent invasions have come from film crews and stars. The Netflix hit, The Last Kingdom, was filmed there.
The Castle sits on the coast in Northumberland, overlooking the Farne Islands, including the Holy sanctuary of Lindisfarne.
