Potpourri from treasures on the beach

As I desperately went through my photo albums yet again, I spotted this one. How did I miss it before? But then, isn’t it true that we miss the most obvious things right in front of us?

Anyway — feeling quite gleeful, I recalled that glorious day at the Kala Patthar beach in the Andamans where we were enchanted by the driftwood, the corals, the beautiful shells, scattered all over the sand. Crabs meandered around these along with other critters as if to say — hey look, you are in our territory, so watch out.

We dared not ignore that warning, of course, but could not help picking up the corals and shells. I dropped some, realizing that the inhabitants were still in them. Still, we could not help playing on the beach — and enjoying ourselves.

This little potpourri — because, what else to call it? — came together with some of the debris. No sooner had I gathered it when a big wave washed over it, much to our amusement. Still, I am glad I got a photo.

Also, I brought the bluish coral back home with me and it sits on my shelf with some other white corals.
