Istanbul, Turkey, is for the Birds!
At least it was the day my wife and I arrived aboard the Oosterdam while cruising to the historic sites around the Marmara Sea. It was — perhaps — the last adventure on our bucket list. We were celebrating our 61st wedding anniversary.
From our stateroom, I spied these sea birds on shore as if they were waiting for me to photograph them! What a wonderful welcome to Byzantium/Constantinople/Istanbul, a cozy little city of about 11 million people — and birds!
