Do You See What I See?

October Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Adventure”

--

Majestic sentinels watching over the desert.

Aptly nicknamed the ‘Rock’ Stars of the Outback, the Pinnacles were formed from limestone-rich sand and seashells which were crushed to powder by the ocean and swept inland. Over thousands of years (the Pinnacles are over 30,000 years old!), moisture from rain caused the calcium carbonate in the seashell sand to harden and form shapes beneath the ground.

Later, bushfires and erosion saw the surrounding loose sand blow away, leaving behind the Pinnacles in all their majesty.

You can wander through the Pinnacles on foot or follow a track in your car (no 4-wheel drive needed for this adventure). The husbeast and I mixed both, stopping the car at various points to potter about and explore. As you can see from the lack of footprints, we were the first to explore that section on that day.

As to what I see above? I see a puppy and a ghost — maybe they’re out trick or treating?! What do you see?

This month, we want you to dig deep and share your best photos and stories about adventure. Big adventures, small adventures, funny adventures — we want to see them all! Can you tell a story about an adventure using six words and a photo?

Check out this month’s challenge below!
