OOPS! I may have neglected Groot.

Lucky bamboo is supposed to be the plant that anyone, even a beginner, can keep alive.

When provided with direct sunlight and pure water, the lucky bamboo plants can survive for nearly a decade. — FNP

Sunlight and water. Surely even *I* can get that right.

Lucky bamboo has a well-earned reputation as being nearly indestructible. — The Spruce

On the surface, it would seem like Lucky Bamboo is the perfect plant for me … but as you can see, things didn’t go well.

Lucky Bamboo Facts

🪴Lucky Bamboo will grow in soil or water.

🪴Red or orange roots are a sign that a Lucky Bamboo is healthy.

🪴When given as a gift, Lucky Bamboo is supposed to bring good luck for a year.

🪴If Lucky Bamboo given as a gift dies within 12 months, 29 YEARS of bad luck will follow. (I'm pretty sure I’m safe. I purchased my Lucky Bamboo myself and I THINK I managed to keep it alive for just over a year. 😅😅)

🪴Lucky Bamboo is a misdemeanour — it’s not a bamboo plant, but a tropical water lily.
