Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “About Me & Six”

Outwardly, all appears serene and bright.

This was one of the “outtakes” for a series of author headshots taken back in 2017 (ish). On the left, near my necklace, you can spot a small bump on my chest. I have a small scar there now. It was the first skin cancer I had removed. It’s tiny compared to the other scars on my body. Collectively, they are my battle wounds.

And yet, without exception, when I meet new people, and they hear the story behind my collection of scars, they say, “But you don’t look sick.”
Looks can be deceiving.
