Bummer. I can’t eat this daily.

I took a “no sugar vow” in April of this year because sugar-binging was poisoning my mental health. I ate clean for about 6 months, but I’ve indulged in a sweet now and then, but not to the point of excess.

My favourite chocolate bar of all time is the Laura Secord French Mint. This divine Canadian chocolatier has been around since 1913. I’ve been eating their French mint bars since I was a kid.

When I saw this at the store last year, I was delighted because — look at the SIZE of this bar! It’s 10 inches (25.4 cm) long and 3 inches (7.62 cm) wide. I was in chocolate heaven. I kept this bar hidden in a cupboard and didn’t share it with anyone. It took me 2 evenings to eat it — 40 squares of chocolate. I was hooked.

When I saw this chocolate bar in the store this year, I hesitated to buy it, but I did — and promised myself I wouldn’t overdo it. I’ve been good, 4 squares at the most in one day, okay well once I had 8. Sandi Parsons and Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, like you both say — I’m adjusting my halo.
