Ode to Joy (My Journals)
March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Retro or Old”
Give me fuel, give me fire.
The morning sun breaks through my bathroom window in such a poetic way that I’m constantly inspired to stack stuff in its rays and pull out my brother’s camera for an impromptu photoshoot.
That’s exactly what I did this morning. I’ve had the idea for a while but struggled to find the motivation to lug forty pounds of my words down the hall long before I’ve had my two cups of chest-hair-blooming coffee.
I love to write. My affinity for words ran deep and grew stronger in adolescence when hormones and untapped, raw emotions were at their peak.
In high school, I wrote constantly. I covered my journals in brown paper bags so they looked like regular school books when I incessantly pulled them out of my backpack.
Much like Mary Chang Story Writer, I was (and always will be) ‘fueled by my teenage-angst-driven fingertips’.
As always, much love and gratitude to the editors of SWSP, Mary Chang Story Writer, Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, and Sandi Parsons! ❤
