Parts Of A Whole

May Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “This is Me”

I’m part of nature’s bigger picture.

I’m a lilac colour,
or, a rusty red leave,
bobbing in the wind —
living life’s sunny tides & dark storms.

I am part of nature,

a flower, in a storm,
a branch clinging on —
a reminder about perseverance.

a step on a journey,

I’m a human, part of nature,
going here, there, somewhere,
guided by life’s universal energy.
Trying to shine and survive where I am —

I’m enjoying life’s sunny patches,

It’s a reminder:
that shadows exist.
that darkness lurks amongst us.
that loving light sets me free.
that there is beauty in forgiveness.

that there is love and acceptance,

I’m part of something bigger than me.
I have faith that tomorrow,
will be filled with bright purple petals,
