Six Word Photo Story: Freestyle
Don’t mistake this for a pinata.
I spotted this hornet nest on the grounds of the nature center. I watched it get larger and larger as the summer progressed. Given the shape and swirled texture, I thought it looked like a prop from The Lord of the Rings movies.
Late in the summer, it drew quite a bit of attention from people who spotted it from the walking trail. I was concerned it would come to a catastrophic end — either due to the branch breaking or because it was too much of a temptation for passersby to leave alone. I was reluctant to step closer to it to take the photo for fear of upsetting its inhabitants.
Though I went with the “party theme” for this freestyle story, I came up with several other alternatives for it, which included:
The sign said, “Do not disturb.”
The place was buzzing with activity.
Don’t use this for target practice.
