December Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Snow & White”
Slices of Coconut Saying “Eat Me”!
As we walked along Shimla’s Mall Road, a major tourist attraction with its quaint shops, wall art, beautiful architecture, and of course, warm people bustling about undeterred by the steady drizzle, we came upon street vendors selling coconut slices. Quite unexpected. Apparently, they are a hot item.
We didn’t buy any as we had just had a big breakfast. But many people did. As the sales picked up, the vendors instantly refilled the tray quite expertly.
It is amazing how they managed to extract the full coconut from its shell and carve it attractively. It is no easy task to crack a brown coconut — much less remove the flesh intact in that shape — and I found this quite fascinating!
Well — Shimla gets a lot of snow in winter and looks like a fairytale land. When we visited, however, it had all melted and the rains had started. Hmph! But we did see a lot of other white things such as horses, statues, gushing water, and of course — coconuts.
Thank you, dear Mary Chang Story Writer for the six-word photo challenge. I love to start my day thinking up stories ❤ Thanks for all the snow I am yet to see in real life!
