Site of no sight. Two died.
This is a memorial for the two firefighters, Captain Tedmund Hall and Firefighter Specialist Arnie Quinones, who died in the Station Fire on 8/30/2009. Their tragic loss is memorialized here. It is believed they couldn’t see through the smoke and drove off the road.
Much of the Angeles National Forest burned; over 160,000 acres. The fire destroyed 89 homes and at least 120 other structures.
Many of the forest sections may never recover due to the changing climate.
