Guest canine appearance makes my day.

Landscape photography brings me closer to the present moment because walking in nature is immersive: my inner ‘radar’ scans the world around me and draws me deeper. Often overlooked details suddenly become significant and absorbing, which are good enough reasons to make getting ‘out there’ totally worthwhile.

And there’s more. When you go with the flow, it’s more than possible for unexpected plotlines to unfold right before your eyes.

Like in this photo, when, five miles into a remote ten-mile walk, a lone dog bounded up from nowhere, ran in a frenzied circle around the wise old tree, then mysteriously vanished through a hedgerow never to be seen or heard of again!

Fully ‘immersed’ and in the nature zone, I was dog paparazzi ready for this dashing, little scene-stealer demanding all the limelight.

For me, this is the kind of unscripted story moment that shines and always makes me smile.

Thank you, Mary Chang Story Writer, for the wonderful Six Word Story Challenge summer prompt to share how we shine in so many different ways.

And for an array of shining examples, look no further than Susan Alison, Barb Dalton 🇺🇦, Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, Penny Grubb, B.R. Shenoy, David Acaster, pockett dessert, Jason Edmunds, Sanghita Pal.

Or, for more cameo canine appearances, scroll to the end of either of these two stories — it feels like the start of a collection!

Thank you for reading.
