☢️Radioactive egg sandwich. Handle with care.

Last week I started my day with a radioactive egg sandwich 🥪

I’ve been having some digestive problems lately — it’s more than likely a complication of Cystic Fibrosis. My digestion/malabsorption issues always seem to surprise people because Cystic Fibrosis has a reputation for being a respiratory disease. Fun fact – it’s not. It’s a multi-organ disease that primarily affects the respiratory and digestive systems.

I often have trouble with my medications. Sometimes I absorb them in the wrong place. Sometimes I don’t absorb them at all…

But back to my ☢️radioactive egg sandwich … while it’s not the worse thing I’ve ever eaten, I’d also be happy if I never ate another one.

Before I got to put my chompers on the sandwich and take a bite, I had to take precautions … so I was gowned and gloved up. Apparently, getting radioactive eggs on my clothing or hands wasn’t ideal, but eating it was honky-dory.

After consuming my delightful meal, I had six scans. At first, they were every half hour, with the final scan at four hours post-meal.

And the results? It was no surprise to me. I lit the scan up in all the wrong places. But that’s pretty normal for someone with Cystic Fibrosis.

Can you take a photo that represents “Life” and tell a story about it in six words?
